Real people, not a call center. Based in New York’s Capital Region.

Ask ChatGPT for the best med spa in your city. It names three.

Do you know whether you’re one of them? This is a free look at what the AI assistants say when somebody asks them where to go, where you actually place in each neighborhood you draw clients from, and what to fix first.

Eighty seconds. Includes a live look at what ChatGPT recommends in one real market, and the small grey line on a Google profile that decided it.

We built the system that runs it, and it sends the report back in ten or fifteen minutes. No cost, no contract, and nobody calls you unless you ask us to.

You don’t have a ranking. You have a different one in every neighborhood you draw from.

Most owners have one number in their head for where they show up, and it comes from searching their own treatment name while standing inside the building. That is the best result you will ever see. A client deciding between you and two others is searching from her office, her gym, her neighborhood eight miles north — and getting a different answer in each one. The audit checks it from dozens of separate points across your market so you can see the whole picture at once.

A grid scan of a med spa's Google Maps position across its market, ranking first across the east side of the city and dropping to 13th on the west
A real grid scan. Each pin is where this business came up when somebody searched from that exact spot — first place across one side of the city, thirteenth on the other.
  • Your map, pin by pin

A live scan across the area you actually draw from, showing where you place from each point and which practice holds the spots you are losing.

  • What AI says about you

We run the prompts a client would really type — best med spa, best place for Botox, who does microneedling near me — and show you, word for word, which practices come back and where you sit.

  • Your Google profile, audited

Primary category, service list, review volume and recency, photos, hours, booking link. The fields that decide whether you make the shortlist at all.

  • Directories, schema and links

Where your listings disagree with each other, what your site does and doesn’t state in machine-readable markup, and who links to you compared with the practice above you.

  • What to fix first, in order

A short, ranked list. Most of it you can do yourself, and we will say which items are worth paying anyone for.

The people booking injectables are the people already asking AI.

AI assistants keep no roster of med spas of their own. They read your Google Business Profile, your listings and your website, and say it back out loud — which means one stale field can quietly remove you from a recommendation you never knew was happening. And the age group asking most is the same one filling your treatment rooms.

64%of adults aged 30–44 have now asked an AI tool for a local business recommendation
31%used ChatGPT to find a local business in the past year; 23% used Google’s AI Mode
97%of AI users check what they were told against real reviews at least sometimes; 42% always do

Source: BrightLocal, Local Consumer Review Survey 2026, published 10 March 2026, n=1,002 US adults, 455 of whom had used AI to find a local business. Overall AI use for finding a local business rose from 6% to 45% in a single year.

Findability isn’t one thing you fix. It’s three, and they don’t carry equal weight.

The audit tells you where you stand. This is what moves it. We will be straight with you about which of these is a heavy lever and which is housekeeping, because the industry is not always honest about the difference.

Directories & citations

The places a machine goes to check

Your name, address, phone, hours and category are published in dozens of places you may never look at: Apple Maps, Bing Places, Yelp, Healthgrades, RealSelf, and the data aggregators quietly feeding all of them. We find where those records disagree with each other and get them saying the same thing.

Straight answer on weight: as a pure ranking factor, citations have been sliding for years. What has risen is corroboration — when an assistant decides whether to name you, listings that contradict each other read as uncertainty about whether you exist as described.

Schema markup

Stating the facts in a form nothing can misread

Schema is structured data added to your site’s code: this is a medical spa, these are the treatments, this is the provider and her credentials, these are the hours, this is the booking URL, these are the reviews. It says explicitly what your page design only implies.

Straight answer on weight: schema is not a ranking trick. In the 2026 Whitespark study of 187 local ranking factors, site schema landed 161st for map-pack impact. Its value is that it removes ambiguity for the systems now summarising you, and ambiguity is what gets you left out.

Backlinks

The slow lever, and the strongest one

Links from real local sites: press coverage, referral relationships with dermatology and OB practices, brand and supplier directories for the lines you carry, event sponsorships, being the practice a local outlet quotes when it writes about injectables. Earned, not bought — bought links are the one thing here that can actively hurt you.

Straight answer on weight: in that same study, inbound link quality ranked 3rd of 187 factors for local organic results and industry-relevant link volume ranked 5th. This is the part that takes months and the part your competitors are least likely to be doing.

Weightings from Whitespark’s 2026 Local Search Ranking Factors report, 47 contributing local SEO practitioners scoring 187 factors. For the map pack, the single heaviest factor is your primary Google category — which is the next section.

Client work

A ten-year-old Chicago skin studio that Google had filed under the wrong thing

YA Skin Studio has been treating clients in Streeterville since 2014. Five stars on both Google and Yelp, more than 18,000 clients through the door, and a founder named DMK Paramedical Therapist of the Year. None of that was the problem.

The problem was a small grey line of text under the business name that almost no owner ever looks at: the primary category on the Google profile. It is the heaviest single factor in map rankings and the first thing an AI assistant reads when it decides what kind of business you are. A person scrolls past a wrong category and books anyway, because she can see the photos and read the reviews. A machine reads it, decides you are not relevant to what was asked, and moves on. There is nobody to appeal to.

We corrected the category and the service structure underneath it, and rebuilt the website so the treatments, credentials and location are stated in markup a machine can read rather than implied by the layout. You can see it at yaskinchicago.com.

How it works

Three steps, and the first two are entirely on us.

Step one

Free Findability audit

You send the practice name and city. We scan your map position, your Google profile, your listings and the AI answers for your market. Nothing needed from you beyond the form.

Step two

We show you the gaps

You get the full report back in ten or fifteen minutes, written in plain language, with the problems ranked by what they are actually costing you.

Step three

You get found

Fix it yourself with the list, or bring us in to handle it. Plenty of owners take the report and run with it, and that is a fine outcome.

Fair questions

What does it cost?

Nothing, and there is no version of this that turns into an invoice later. We do these because a good number of owners read the report, see something they want help with, and come back. Most don’t, and that is genuinely fine.

Are you going to call me?

No. The report comes by email. If you want to talk it through there is a link in it to book time, and if you don’t, you will hear from us once more at most.

How long does it take?

Ten or fifteen minutes. The scan starts the moment you submit, and the report is emailed to you as soon as it finishes.

We have three locations. Does that work?

The free audit covers one location, so put your flagship in and we will scan that market properly. Multi-location is usually where the real money is hiding though — duplicate profiles, one location cannibalising another in the map results, listings never updated after a move — and none of that shows up in a single-location scan. To cover the others it is a paid audit, or book a strategy call and we will work out what you actually need.

We’re a physician-owned practice, not a spa. Does this still apply?

It applies more, and the category question gets sharper. Whether you are filed as a medical spa, a dermatologist, a plastic surgeon or a day spa changes which searches you can appear in at all, and practices offering both medical and aesthetic services are the ones most often filed wrong. We will tell you which category actually matches the searches you want.

Is this just an automated report?

It runs on a system we built ourselves, here in the States. It is not a white-label tool somebody resold us, and it is not a template with your name dropped into it. Scanning a hundred grid points by hand would be absurd, so the system does the scanning and writes it up off your real data — your profile, your competitors, your market. If anything in it looks wrong, reply to the email and a person will go through it with you.

Do I have to give you access to anything?

No. Everything in the audit is visible from outside — it is the same view a prospective client gets. If you later want us to make the fixes, that is when profile access comes up, and not before.
